The Norwegian government's Br\u00f8nn\u00f8ysund\u00a0Register Center joined forces with Big Four accounting giant Ernst & Young (EY) to build a new virtual office space in the metaverse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with maintaining the systems for the government's electronic information exchange, the center is in charge of handling a number of public registers for Norway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agency has decided to establish a metaverse location,\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> according to the release, because it wants to interact with the younger generation that uses its services and because “future users of public services are there.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nordic innovation lead at EY Magnus Jones commented<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMore and more authorities see a clear need of being present at the platforms where mainly younger generations are both for tax and legal purposes with regards to information.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The virtual office<\/a> intends to provide customers with information on cryptocurrency reporting through the Norwegian Tax Agency and advice on how to launch a business from professionals at the Brnnysund Registers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Andreas Hamnes, a business developer at the Brnnysund Registers, the continued development of services will make younger generations who were “born digital” feel more alienated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jones went on to add that the younger generation is truly creating “DeFi-based landscapes,” and that frequently, they are unaware of or ignorant of the ramifications of tax or legal matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat is why public authorities in Norway want to inform [them] about everything: from how you register a company, at what threshold VAT registrations arise, how to report your cryptos, etc.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following its numerous Web3 initiatives, which include multi-million dollar investments in the creation of its own blockchain suite, EY also maintains a metaverse office in Decentraland<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This development comes after alarming statements regarding the number of users in Decentraland were made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to early reports, the metaverse network only had about 40 different active wallets. The data's original source, DappRadar, as well as Decentraland both updated these figures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developers and investors in the metaverse expressed their conviction that the metaverse will continue to play a significant role in the development of the internet in the weeks following the tragedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to DappRadar's Q3 report, blockchain games <\/a>and metaverse projects raised a total of $1.3 billion during that particular quarter.
