With the rise of Facebook (later rebranded to Meta), which was accused of information manipulation based on user demographics, the significance of social media platforms in influencing international politics was first brought to light. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As US President Joe Biden accused the website of spreading misinformation, Elon Musk's freshly bought Twitter <\/a>got the short end of the stick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At a Chicago fundraising gathering for forthcoming elections, Biden criticized Elon Musk for acquiring Twitter. He declared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The president emphasized the absence of oversight on Twitter, adding: “While the Biden administration\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> has previously made clear its position to support the suppression of hate speech and false information on social media sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the $44 billion purchase of Twitter by Musk, the unfettered speech was promised. However, because of worries about content control and the rise in hate speech, several marketers have stopped working with Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Musk's first move for Twitter is to charge customers who want to keep their account verification an $8 monthly subscription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, the CEO of cryptocurrency exchange Binance<\/a>, contributed $500 million in fiat money to support Musk's effort to acquire Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
