Twitter has introduced a new crypto tool that allows users to view Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) price indexes<\/a> as searches for \u201c$Bitcoin,\u201d \u201cEthereum price\u201d \u201c$ETH \u201d and \u201cBTC price\u201d ‘pulls up a price chart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new feature, which is an enhancement over “$Cashtags,” was introduced on December 21 by the Twitter Business account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The account said that consumers would be able to see a clickable link that brings them to search results that now contain the price graphs for those symbols anytime one tweet the symbol of a significant stock, exchange-traded fund,<\/a> or cryptocurrency with $ in front of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also said that you may see the price graph by just typing in the ticker symbol, whether it be for a stock or cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, posted the news of the new feature\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> shortly after it was announced, noting that it was “one of many product upgrades coming to financial Twitter.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time of writing, it seems that BTC and ETH are the only two cryptocurrencies having price charts. Musk's preferred Dogecoin and other well-known cryptocurrency did not make the criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Twitter Business said that it anticipates improving user experience and extending its coverage of symbols “in the coming weeks.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to displaying the price chart, Cointelegraph discovered that a variety of permutations of Bitcoin, including “$Bitcoin,” “Bitcoin price,” and “BTC price,” also function for Ethereum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On December 21, tech writer Jane Mastodon Wong informed her 158,700 Twitter followers that TradingView, a tool for trading research, was the source of the charts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lower left-hand corner of the price charts also contains a link that says “View on Robinhood,” indicating that the retail trading platform<\/a> and Twitter have collaborated on this integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Users are then sent to the ETH price chart on Robinhood, which includes a link that reads “Sign Up to Buy Ethereum” underneath it. For Bitcoin, the same links are offered as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Details of the cooperation between Twitter and Robinhood, however, have not been made public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given that #Bitcoin is tweeted around 120,000 times each day, according to statistics from BitInfoCharts, it is arguable that Twitter's price chart integration will increase traffic to Robinhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other side, the price of #Ethereum fluctuates around the 25,000 mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rumors that Twitter would develop its own native cryptocurrency called “Twitter Coin” to be used for platform payments started circulating earlier this month.
