Nokia, a global leader in mobile technology<\/a>, is extending its corporate reach into the metaverse. The Finnish are using it to remotely assist mechanics and employees of beer breweries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to better position itself for shifting markets and align with customer needs, the company laid out a phased plan in 2020.Delivering the Metaverse is also a part of this strategy, according to Robert Joyce, CTO of Nokia Oceania. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He claims that the mobile technology will use the metaverse to investigate the Microsoft HoloLens augmented reality capabilities, value chain management operations in breweries, and aircraft technician workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nokia announced its intention to introduce the data marketplace based on distributed ledger technology<\/a> (DLT) in 2021. The new platform sought to facilitate safe data exchange while also streamlining operations for companies and communications service providers (CSPs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The metaverse plans of Nokia came to life in 2022 when it opened two labs to explore and offer possibilities. In 2022, Nokia and an Australian university began collaborating to deliver a 5G-connected microbrewery that makes use of metaverse technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Researchers from Dortmund University in Germany and academics from a brewery technology lab at the University of Technology Sydney worked together using augmented reality (AR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Nokia's global chief strategy and technology officer Nishant Batra said the metaverse would have an immediate and more significant impact on industries than on the consumer market while speaking at the recently concluded World Economic Forum\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> (WEF).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
