Two Turkish earthquake relief organizations received about $227,000 in ETH from the co-founder of Ethereum<\/a>, Vitalik Buterin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least two significant donations from Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin have already been made to aid those harmed by last week's deadly earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 6, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Syria\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> occurred. Now at 33,000 dead, it is one of the worst tragedies to hit the country in recent memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The co-founder of Ethereum was one of several who actively donated Ethereum this week to help Turkey's rescue efforts. According to blockchain security company PeckShield, his most recent payment to Anka Relief was on February 12 and was for 50 ETH, or roughly $77,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anka praised the co-founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, for his gift and noted that cryptocurrency donations had been coming in ever since the first day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A list of cryptocurrency wallets that can be used for donations was supplied by Anka. The Ukraine DAO project, which aims to collect cryptocurrency donations to aid in the beleaguered nation's efforts, was also initiated by the Web3 humanitarian support organization<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most recent gift is in addition to the 99 ETH that Vitalik Buterin previously contributed to help earthquake victims. On February 11, the vitalik.eth address delivered roughly $150,000 in ETH to Ahbap, a non-profit organization devoted to aiding the people of Turkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahbap has also supplied a number of cryptocurrency addresses for various tokens that can be donated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stablecoins are said to have been the most frequently sent tokens, totalling $4.3 million in claimed crypto donations to date. The Ahbap wallet currently has 409 ETH in it, valued at $622,000, according to Etherscan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Financial Times of London reported late last week that donations in cryptocurrency<\/a> have been flooding in from worldwide. Companies had sent more than $10 million in cryptocurrency, with Binance alone offering $5 million to help Turkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
