Authorities in Norway seized 60 million krone ($5.9 million) stolen from crypto game Axie Infinity<\/a> in March last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Axie Infinity breach resulted in the seizure of up to 60 million kroner (approximately $5.9 million) in assets by the Norwegian Police authority \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>(kokrim).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Norwegian organization kokrim reported on February 16 that it had successfully recovered roughly $5.9 million from the hackers after making numerous attempts to track down the assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the largest crypto seizure ever made by Norwegain police, the statement notes, and its among the largest ever cash seizures made in Norway. The first state attorney, Marianne Bender said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are working with the FBI specialists on cryptocurrency tracking. This kind of cooperation between countries makes us stronger as a society in the fight against digital, profit-motivated crime”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Lazarus Gang of North Korea<\/a> allegedly stole more than $60 million from the Axie-Ronin bridge back in March 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FBI and the US Department of Justice worked together to effectively locate and recover the cash. The state's attorney also stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis case shows that we also have a great capacity to follow the money on the blockchain, even if criminals use advanced methods.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Investigators have shown their ability to track funds on-chain using advanced tracing tools. Kokrim declared that it would keep track of the hackers and seize any money they attempted to remove. To return the money that was recovered, kokrim stated that it will speak with Axie Infinity's parent firm Sky Mavis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
