She added that the Commission is \u201ckeen to foster innovation\u201d and \u201cprotect public trust and confidence\u201d in the charity sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sam Jackson, the Commission\u2019s policy chief, said in a blog that crypto assets could help charities raise, invest, and move funds, citing Ukraine\u2019s and UK\u2019s crypto success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, he also acknowledged that there are \u201creal risks\u201d in engaging with crypto assets and that \u201cmuch we don\u2019t yet know\u201d about how they will develop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As charity crypto donations increase, the Commission provides guidance. The UK-based Children's Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) received over \u00a3100,000 in Bitcoin donations in the past year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Effective Ventures Foundation, which received major funding from the FTX exchange and its founder Sam Bankman-Fried, filed for bankruptcy after misusing crypto offers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, charities should carefully consider receiving crypto donations and obey the law and best practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
