On Monday, OpenAI\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> CEO Sam Altman will launch his Woldcoin cryptocurrency. According to a report citing sources with knowledge of the situation, the distribution plan for Worldcoin tokens will also be made public today, following his earlier disclosure of its tokenomics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Worldcoin is a biometric iris-based cryptocurrency. In addition, it contains the World ID system, the iris-scanning Orb, and the Wold App wallet. Sam Altman, co-founder of Worldcoin, believes that the company's iris-scanning AI's privacy concerns will diminish when the code is made open-source. Several experts have voiced privacy and security concerns about the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tools for Humanity, the technology company behind Woldcoin, declined to mention the launch or provide additional information. OKX has launched a Worldcoin (WLD) recharge page that supports ERC20 and Optimism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blockchain Capital contributed $115 million to the Series C funding round of the company. A16z, Bain Capital Crypto, and Distributed Global are also investors. The company raised $100 million at a $3 billion valuation in March last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to data from Arkham Intelligence, 1 billion Worldcoin tokens have been issued. Worldcoin's contract address is 0x163f8C2467924be0ae7B5347228CABF260318753.\u00a0. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
