The position entails supervising complex investigations involving cryptocurrency and digital assets from a Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) standpoint. The POCA pertains to confiscating and redistributing criminal proceeds for community benefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The optimal candidate will be a certified, accredited financial investigator (AFI) employed by the police department. In addition, candidates must have experience with blockchain analysis, criminal investigation, and legal knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to other civil service benefits programs, the salary for this position is approximately 47,380 British pounds ($61,076.37).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NCA\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> established the NCCU Crypto Cell in January 2023 to investigate cyber incidents involving cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NCA intends to increase its regulatory focus on crypto assets in the United Kingdom in response to the government's call to eradicate “dirty money” nationwide.
