On September 29, 2023, Polygon Labs announced that Google Cloud had become a validator on the Polygon Proof of Stake<\/a> (PoS) network. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Polygon PoS Network, which was once known as the Matic Network and functions as a side-chain to the Ethereum blockchain, is now secured by more than 100 validators, according to a statement from Polygon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Polygon, Polygon PoS is now partially powered by the same infrastructure that underpins YouTube and Gmail<\/a>. Additionally, it described Google Cloud as a “high-quality, trusted, [and] security-minded” validator and claimed that this increases network security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project also included a link to a dashboard page showing that Google Cloud had invested up to 10,451 MATIC ($5,484) and has earned 29.42 MATIC ($15). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google Cloud is one of the validators having the lowest number of MATIC staked, while being more well-known than any of Polygon's other validators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The value of Polygon's MATIC token has been unaffected by the deal. While the crypto market has increased by 0.6% in the last day, MATIC has increased by 1.2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April, Polygon and Google Cloud officially started working together. Both businesses stated at the time that the multi-year relationship would have many objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the conditions of the cooperation, Google Cloud would support Polygon's dedicated app-chain, offer managed Polygon node hosting to Google Cloud users, and contribute cloud services to Polygon's zkEVM scaling solution\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the agreement included $200,000 in Google Cloud investment for Polygon-supported businesses. Beyond that collaboration, Google Cloud has expanded its BigQuery datasets to support Polygon network data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 21, the platform added that feature and enabled compatibility for a total of eleven different sets of blockchain data available. Although comprehensive, the collaboration between Polygon and Google Cloud is not original. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
