Charles Hoskinson, \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>co-founder of the Cardano network, has addressed some concerns and misunderstandings about the Hydra initiative. In a Wednesday recording, the crypto entrepreneur made an earnest effort to provide clarity and transparency regarding Hydra's throughput capabilities and refute allegations of dishonesty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protocol, which went live on the mainnet in May, is designed to increase the scalability of Cardano by implementing a novel approach to transaction processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increasing Cardano's Visibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hoskinson provided a TPS chart displaying approximately 1,000 TPS to demonstrate Cardano's transaction processing speed capability to dispel myths about Cardano's incapacity to process transactions quickly. Nonetheless, he emphasized that this metric did not adequately depict Cardano's potential, and he clarified that the purpose of Hydra had evolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than focusing solely on optimizing TPS, the project now prioritizes the development of middleware to enable developers to construct sophisticated applications on Cardano, according to him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This shift in emphasis is consistent with Cardano's vision to support various off-chain and on-chain applications, such as NFT drops, DEX transactions, and sophisticated smart contracts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoskinson also highlighted that Cardano's extended UTXO model<\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a> enables for more sophisticated transactions with numerous components, making it a unique system compared to other blockchains, he stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have the single best Paradigm for applying rollups long term. Why? Because rolling up these outputs in a UTXO model is a lot easier than this Global State system of accounts and all the complexity that exists there.\u201d <\/em> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Addressing Misinformation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Hoskinson also addressed recent misinformation and skepticism regarding Cardano, urging the Cardano community to remain vigilant and fact-check claims about the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvery time a lie is said, it takes 10 times as much effort to undo that in people\u2019s memory. So, when people run around and say hydra\u2019s failed, we lied about Hydra, there\u2019s no way to achieve any of these performance claims\u2026then what they\u2019re really doing is they\u2019re taking the hard work of dozens of people and everybody building on it\u2026it\u2019s not okay and it\u2019s not fair and it has to stop\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

He added that the Cardano ecosystem is founded on rigorous research, peer-reviewed foundations, and open-source contributions from a worldwide community of engineers and developers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
