According to the AptoScan network tracker, on-chain transactions<\/a> on the Move-based blockchain ceased at 23:11 UTC on October 18 at block 104621314.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aptos appeared to corroborate the outage on X (previously Twitter), stating:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team added at the time that “transactions on the network have been impacted” and that it was “working diligently” to rectify the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The outage prompted crypto exchanges Upbit and OKX to notify users of network maintenance and suspend Aptos deposits and withdrawals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the outage, Aptos Labs<\/a> published a birthday message stating, “It's been a year since Aptos Mainnet burst onto the scene.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former Meta employees who worked on Facebook's Diem blockchain created Aptos, a venture capital-backed initiative that launched on October 17, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It may be outage season, as Aptos is not the only chain to experience an outage in recent weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Theta Network team announced on October 19 that a recent node upgrade caused an “edge case bug” that halted block production on the primary chain for several hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was also stated that a repair had been implemented and the network was again operating normally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
