In contrast to several neighboring nations that favor cryptocurrencies, El Salvador<\/a>, a Latin American country, implemented Bitcoin as legal tender in September 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colombia's President owns Bitcoin (BTC)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

CEO Samson Mow presented the president of Colombia with 100,000 sats worth of Bitcoin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Petro then disseminated a message in which he suggested that the underlying technology of cryptocurrencies could be advantageous for the Colombian people. Samson Mow declared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The President of Colombia is now a Bitcoin HODLer for sure. 100,000 sats to be exact.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

President Petro stated, in recognition of his acquisition of Bitcoin, that he would organize the formation of working groups in grassroots communities and public administration wherever the technology has economic uses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He elaborated that cryptocurrencies and blockchain\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> have undeniably penetrated the global community and will continue to evolve in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These technologies may contribute significantly to the well-being of humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Argentine and El Salvador Advance Cryptocurrency Adoption<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As soon as Argentine right-wing leader Javier Milei was sworn in as president<\/a> on November 19, 2023, Max Keiser, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele's Bitcoin advisor, requested authorization for the Argentinian Bitcoin team to travel to El Salvador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
