Six new Ethereum wallets have been disabled by Tether, most likely as a result of their connections to the Russia Finiko ponzi scheme<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blockchain intelligence company ChainArgos<\/a> claims the wallets may have conducted shady transfers to addresses connected to Finiko. Additionally, no more obvious suspicious transactions were seen coming from these locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, the Russian pyramid scheme Finiko was introduced, resulting in victims losing as much as $95 million. The scammer Edvard Sabirov was apprehended by Interpol in the United Arab Emirates<\/a> last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nonetheless, several additional con artists remain at large. Tether blacklisted a TRON address as well, although blockchain researchers found no unusual activity coming from that address. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only one sizable transfer from Bitfinex totaled $7,000 USDT to the wallet. To comply with US regulators, Tether has been closely monitoring wallets connected to illegal activity and cybercrime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These seven wallets don't appear to have any clear or substantial connections to large-scale malicious activity<\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a>. Additionally, the massive stablecoin still needs to issue a remark on this. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
