In 2023, the net total number of Bitcoin ATMs fluctuated between increase and decrease but ultimately declined by the end of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since October 2013, when Coin ATM Radar began monitoring cryptocurrency ATMs, the number of installed cryptocurrency ATMs has increased monthly in a consistent pattern, culminating in August 2022 with an unprecedented count of 39,376.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently, the figures started to decline, specifically during 2023. The United States <\/a>experienced the most significant decline in cryptocurrency ATMs in 2023, decreasing by 15.4% from 32,672 to 27,631. However, the nation accommodates 82% of all cryptocurrency ATMs globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the interim, the totals of Australia, Canada, Spain, and Poland increased consistently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Coin Machine According to data from Radar, BitAccess, a manufacturer of cryptocurrency ATMs, may have been a factor in that decline, as its net installations dropped 26% between August 2022 and January 2024, from 9,160 to 6,774.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, throughout the year, two additional significant manufacturers, Genesis Coin and General Bytes\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>, continued to increase the number of Bitcoin ATMs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Bitcoin Depot, a prominent contender in the cryptocurrency ATM industry, recently expanded to its 28th state in the country and became a publicly traded company on the Nasdaq on July 3. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
