Brian Brooks, the former general counsel of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase who later became Comptroller of the Currency, has resigned as Binance's CEO. Only a few months after being named as US CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brooks intimated in a tweet that his surprise retirement was likely due\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> to “differences about strategic direction.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said in a statement that he is “confident” in the subsidiary's business and assures customers that the move would not affect them “in any way.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a follow-up tweet, Zhao thanked Brooks for his “invaluable<\/a>” effort and wished him “all the best.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
