In a tweet on Thursday, Mexican businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> stated that his Banco Azteca will soon accept Bitcoin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To show his support for the largest cryptocurrency, the founder and chairman of Grupo Salinas, whose net worth is estimated to be $15.6 billion, has added Bitcoin laser eyes to his Twitter profile image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salinas revealed in late June that Banco Azteca wanted to be the first Mexican bank to promote the bellwether coin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third-richest Mexican billionaire stated in November that he had converted 10% of his massive assets to Bitcoin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He believes that investing in the largest cryptocurrency is an excellent approach to diversify one's portfolio:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Bitcoin is a good way to diversify your investment portfolio and I think that all investors should start studying cryptocurrencies and their future. At Banco Azteca, we are working to bring them to our clients to continue promoting [financial] freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
