Biometric data gathered during Worldcoin (WLD) project registration is included in the system. It is now available on Github and uses secure multi-party computation (SMPC) to distribute data across several places, protecting it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process entails “taking one secret and sharing it in multiple parts across different parties for increased protection,” per the foundation's blog. Higher standards for data protection, particularly for biometric data\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>, are what the new system seeks to establish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The switch to the new approach and the removal of outdated iris codes that were previously gathered by Orb devices\u2014which scan users' eyes as part of the registration process\u2014were also announced by the Worldcoin Foundation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This procedure is a component of the Worldcoin project's strategy for giving members WLD tokens<\/a> in exchange for their individuality verification and digital identity creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organization has worked with TACEO and Tools for Humanity to address the cost and scalability issues that have previously prevented SMPC technology from being widely used. More robust data security protocols are required since more enterprises use biometric authentication. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project's data collection methods have been under increased scrutiny from global regulators. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI<\/a>, is the primary developer behind the initiative, through his company Tools for Humanity.
