Former United States President Donald Trump has committed to advocating for Bitcoin (BTC) miners in the White House if he is elected president, following his inclusion of cryptocurrencies as a primary focus of his campaign in the upcoming presidential elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, on June 11, Trump met with several Bitcoin miners at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, and he has expressed his admiration and comprehension of the crypto sector, according to Matthew Shultz, executive chairman of CleanSpark (NASDAQ: CLSK), a significant crypto mining company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Shultz stated that the former US president had expressed his conviction that miners of the principal decentralized finance (DeFi) asset can contribute to the stabilization of the energy supply from the grid. He committed to advocating for this position if he were to be elected to the White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Trump has engaged in discussions with Jason Les, the CEO and director of Riot Platforms<\/a> (NASDAQ: RIOT), another of the world's largest blockchain companies. Riot Platforms operates mining facilities that validate transactions on blockchain networks, primarily for Bitcoin, as indicated in his X post on June 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump subsequently stated on his Truth Social account that Bitcoin mining could be “our last line of defense against a CBDC,” a central bank digital currency. He also expressed his desire for all remaining Bitcoin to be “MADE IN THE USA!!!” to further the country's “ENERGY DOMINANCE!!!” goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a reminder, the (repeat) presidential candidate has substantially altered his stance on crypto assets<\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a> in recent years, abandoning his assertion that they “are not money” and “can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity,” which he advanced in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
