Switzerland-based blockchain firm Aleph Zero established a testnet for its ZK-privacy layer-2 solution<\/a> zkOS with “subsecond proving times.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The developer testnet for Aleph Zero's zkOS EVM layer-2 solution, which can achieve “subsecond proving times” in contrast to minutes for existing solutions, is being launched by Aleph Zero. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Swiss company specializes in creating privacy-first blockchain solutions<\/a>. zkOS is based on Arbitrum Anytrust DAC, a permissioned group of parties in charge of maintaining data availability in an Arbitrum AnyTrust Protocol chain, which was developed in collaboration with Gelato, a provider of rollup-as-a-service.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Privacy will become a major narrative in 2024 and beyond, as more mainstream use cases emerge,” said Gelato founder Luis Schliesske.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a press statement, the network can handle “thousands of transactions per second” by generating a block in less than 250 ms with “near-instant transaction finality.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further sophisticated functionalities are anticipated to be accessible by Q1 2025, while the developer mainnet is scheduled for delivery in Q3 2024. Initial benchmarks indicate that zkOS zero-knowledge proofs\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> can be completed “in 600-800 ms on MacBooks (M1-M3 processors) using browsers like Safari or Chrome,” according to the Zug, Switzerland-based company. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
