\u00a0Former US President Donald Trump, who plans to run for office again in 2024, has received a donation of 30.94 BTC, or almost $2 million, from the founders of the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange<\/a>, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tyler Winklevoss announced in an X statement that he will vote for Donald Trump in November, citing the Biden Administration's aggressive stance on cryptocurrency as the reason for his decision.\u00a0Tyler Winklevoss:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Over the past few years, the Biden Administration has openly declared war against crypto. It has weaponized multiple government agencies to bully, harass, and sue the good actors in our industry in an effort to destroy it.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Gemini co-founder claims the Biden Administration's actions have been “nothing short of an unprecedented abuse of power wielded entirely for twisted political gain at the complete expense of innovation, the American taxpayer, and the American economy.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Winklevoss twins have made no secret of their displeasure with the Securities and Exchange Commission\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> (SEC) of the United States.\u00a0Tyler Winklevoss highlighted that the SEC “has not written a single rule for the crypto industry to help any of its participants understand how to navigate the regulatory landscape for this new asset paradigm.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In line with his brother's beliefs, Cameron Winklevoss backed Trump, saying he “will put an end to the Biden Administration's war on crypto.” The Gemini Earn program<\/a>, which failed after Genesis' bankruptcy due to the November 2022 cryptocurrency market meltdown, was the vehicle through which the SEC sued Genesis Global and Gemini for offering and selling unregistered securities to retail investors in early 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
