The WazirX hacker<\/a> converted most of the stolen $230 million into 43,800 ETH, now holding about 59,097 ETH and $15 million in various other tokens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blockchain analytics firm Lookonchain announced Thursday night that the individual who misused the $230 million worth of cryptocurrency from India's WazirX exchange converted most of the assets into ether.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the X post, Lookonchain stated that the hacker had exchanged funds for 43,800 ETH ($149.46 million) and currently possesses approximately 59,097 ETH. Dent, Chromia, Celer Network, and Frontier tokens comprise approximately $15 million of the wallet's remaining cryptocurrency assets<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is important to mention that the WazirX exploiter deposited 7.7M $DENT ($7.3K) to a Binance deposit address that has never been used before,\u201d Lookonchain added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, the Indian crypto exchange was the victim of a $230 million breach that targeted its multisig wallet on the Ethereum network. Shiba Inu, Ethereum, Polygon, and PePe memecoin \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>were among the more than 200 crypto assets plundered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WazirX has since suspended all withdrawals, acknowledging the security vulnerability and referring to the incident as a “force majeure event” beyond its control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, Elliptic, another blockchain analytics firm, stated in a report that on-chain data indicates that the exploit was executed by hackers affiliated with North Korea.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
