According to the FBI, scammers contact their targets through calls or messages and pose as crypto exchange employees. They would assert that the user's account is experiencing issues or that an individual is attempting to compromise their exchange accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malicious actors frequently attempt to arouse their potential victims and convince them to act immediately to safeguard their accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scammers would attempt to entice users to provide access credentials, click on a link, or provide identification information at this juncture. This would enable scammers to access the users' accounts and take their digital assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FBI advises users to stop replying to such conversations or messages<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The initial response that crypto users must take if they receive a call or message indicating account issues, according to the FBI, is to wait to respond. Even though the contact or message appears official, the government agency requested that users take this action. The FBI composed the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHang up. Call the cryptocurrency exchange\u2019s official phone number to verify if there is a problem. Do not use any phone number the caller provides.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the FBI advised users to avoid visiting websites or clicking on links the caller transmits. The agency suggested that accessing the official exchange independently would be more advantageous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FBI <\/use><\/svg><\/span><\/a>recommends that users refrain from disclosing their login information and downloading files and attachments from the communications if the caller requests it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the FBI requested that victims disclose any activities associated with the scam to their official channels. The agency also asked that victims submit transaction information associated with the fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FBI Warns Against Fake Remote Job<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The FBI identified an increase in advertisements for fraudulent work-from-home positions on June 6. Scammers employ a fabricated interface to deceive users into believing they are earning money. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, they will request that users make cryptocurrency payments to access additional job opportunities. Nevertheless, the cryptocurrency is directly transferred to the fraudsters, and the earnings are not genuine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
