CleanSpark Finalizes Bitcoin Site Acquisition Despite Concerns<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0After overcoming earlier national security<\/a> concerns expressed by the White House, American Bitcoin mining company CleanSpark Inc. announced the successful acquisition of a Bitcoin mining site in Wyoming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a July operating report that was released on August 2, the business stated that it had started hashing operations in Tennessee, adding 1 EH\/s to its hashrate in July, and had secured power agreements totaling 75 MW in the state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zach Bradford, CEO of CleanSpark, emphasized the advancements and stated that the company is still on schedule to meet its goal of 32 EH\/s by the end of 2024.\u00a0 Bradford said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In Tennessee, we began hashing under our agreements with GRIID Infrastructure Inc. with 1 EH\/s of additional hashrate added in July. We're continuing our trajectory of growth as we progress towards our target of 32 EH\/s by the end of the year”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

CleanSpark produced 4,108 Bitcoin (BTC) for 2024 after mining 494 BTC in July. The company ended the month with a running hashrate of 21.2 EH\/s after selling 2.54 BTC at an average price of roughly $62,070 each. According to the report, CleanSpark has 7,082 BTC in its holdings as of July.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CleanSpark caught in U.S.-China political battle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Despite prior national security concerns, the Wyoming location was acquired. In early May, CleanSpark acquired several mining sites near Warren Air Force Base, home to strategic nuclear weapon systems, from MineOne, a Chinese-owned company. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Joe Biden\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> said that the “presence of specialized and foreign-sourced equipment capable of facilitating surveillance and espionage activities presents a national security risk to the United States” and issued an emergency order to suspend operations at the site amid the purchase. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the directive, all cryptocurrency mining equipment<\/a> had to be taken down within a mile of the military installation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CleanSpark moved on with the acquisition despite these reservations. While acknowledging the unforeseen difficulties, a CleanSpark representative reaffirmed the company's dedication to compliance and national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
