The development aims to integrate with zero-knowledge operating system (zkOS) privacy tools and utilize the blockchain's Substrate-based WASM layer 1 as its Data Availability Layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) layer, according to a press release shared with Cointelegraph, will enable faster transactions, thereby reducing block latencies to 250 milliseconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAZERO, the ecosystem token, will be used on the Layer-2 to power all gas transactions similarly to how it\u2019s being used now on the Layer-1.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Mainnet features and implications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to the press release, Gelato, a rollup-as-a-service\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> (RaaS) provider, collaborated on developing the Aleph Zero EVM L2, which employs Arbitrum Orbit technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, the new mainnet is intended to facilitate the development of Ethereum-compatible applications, offering users an “exceptionally fast and efficient blockchain.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To shorten the time required to prove ZK and to incorporate privacy features into blockchain applications, the network intends to introduce the zkOS privacy toolkit in Q4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aleph Zero's $50 million funding initiative<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Aleph Zero revealed that it would establish a $50 million financing program on April 18 to assist developer teams in expanding its platform and increasing the global adoption of blockchain technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Aleph Zero Ecosystem Funding Program, which the nonprofit Aleph Zero Foundation<\/a> administers, is designed to attract developers by providing support that exceeds grants. The program is valued at $50 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
