Google's decision to make Presearch the default browser option comes after a protracted legal battle with the European Commission over allegations that the firm manipulated Android to cement its search engine supremacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google was fined a record 4.24 billion euros by the European Commission's antitrust regulator\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> in 2018 for unjustly limiting competition on smartphone operating systems. Google announced in 2019 that search engine rivals will be able to compete for free on Android smartphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presearch's private, decentralized search engine alternative will now be available on Android devices in Europe among a number of other search engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presearch may seem differently based on the user's location, even though the search engines will be displayed at random.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
