Sony aims to revolutionize Ethereum Layer 2 Soneium<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sony Block Solutions Labs, a joint venture between Sony Group and Startale Labs, has announced the public Ethereum layer 2 next-generation blockchain Soneium, per a press release on August 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the company, Ethereum L2 Soneium is intended to be a general-purpose, extensible blockchain designed to empower developers, creators, and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We believe that the development of a comprehensive Web3 solution based on blockchain is of great importance to the Sony Group, which has established a diverse array of businesses in pursuit of its mission to “Fill the world with emotion, through the power of creativity and technology,” as stated by Jun Watanabe, Chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company is contemplating possibly providing new services in addition to the current Web3 services<\/a> in collaboration with Soneium. Emotion, creativity, and mainstreaming are the three values the blockchain will prioritize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launch of the Soneium Testnet<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Within the next few days, the organization intends to implement the testnet. It is important to note that developers and creators can begin developing their applications on the testnet by utilizing the initial developer tools and SDKs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain<\/a> will facilitate data processing with high speed and minimal fees. Additionally, the chain is intended to enhance accessibility, provide a developer and creator-centric development environment, and provide a comprehensive set of tools and resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Blockchain to Benefit Cryptocurrency<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Ethereum L2 Soneium blockchain launch will increase the network and prices of Astar Network and other partners, such as Chainlink, Optimism, and The Graph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Astar Network<\/a> is transitioning Astar zkEVM to Soneium, improving ASTR's visibility and utility. Additionally, the revenue generated will be reinvested in Astar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement resulted in a 10% increase in the price of ASTR; however, the increase has not decreased to 5% in the past 24 hours. The 24-hour low and high are 0.06902 and 0.0772, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The price of optimism has increased by 8% in the past 24 hours, following an abrupt upward trend following the recent blockchain announcement. It achieved a 24-year high of $1.57.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past 24 hours, the price of GRT has also experienced a 7% increase. In the interim, the price of LINK has increased by 1.40% over the past 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
