Aptos is partnering with Nillion, a privacy platform, to enable privacy-preserving applications on its layer-1 blockchain network, as reported by Cointelegraph on August 29. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This integration will allow Aptos<\/a> to support a variety of applications, including confidential decentralized finance (DeFi), private artificial intelligence (AI) assistants, secure social media, private gaming, collectibles, and more, according to Nillion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nillion highlighted that \u201cDeFi users could benefit from private trade execution or hidden liquidation vaults, while supply chains could enhance transparency without compromising sensitive data.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Established in 2021, Nillion is described as a \u201cblind computation\u201d platform that employs technologies like multiparty computation (MPC) and fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) to \u201cdecentralize trust for sensitive data in the same way that blockchains decentralized transactions,\u201d as detailed on Nillion\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company also stated that \u201cNillion\u2019s blind computation technology could ensure that user interactions with Aptos-customized AI models remain completely private.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This integration comes amidst concerns over privacy-focused technologies following the arrest of Pavel Durov<\/a>, co-founder and CEO of Telegram, in France, which has raised fears of a potential crackdown on these technologies that are often crucial for cryptocurrency operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin expressed his concern about the arrest on August 25, stating on the X platform that it \u201clooks very bad and worrying for the future of software and comms freedom in Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launched by Aptos Labs in 2022, the Aptos network currently has about $425 million in total value locked (TVL), according to DefiLlama data. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company has secured over $400 million in investments from firms such as a16z, Apollo Global, Franklin Templeton, Dragonfly, PayPal Ventures, and Coinbase Ventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 20, Nillion announced\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> its integration with Ethereum's layer-2 scaling network, Arbitrum. Aptos marks Nillion\u2019s first integration with a blockchain network not based on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
