it should be treated as such.\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Crypto profits in Japan are currently subject to miscellaneous income taxation, ranging from 15% to 55%, as per crypto accountants TokenTax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum rate of 55% applies to revenues exceeding 200,000 yen ($1,377); however, it is contingent upon the individual's income tax bracket that determines the rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In contrast, the most significant tax rates apply to profits generated from stock trading, which are only 20%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/coinscreed.com\/staging\/crypto-firms-eye-custody-market-as-institutional-adoption-grows.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"79155\">Corporate crypto holders<\/a> must pay a uniform 30% tax rate on their holdings after the fiscal year, even if they have not generated a profit through a transaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Government ministries submit tax reform requests to the governing party, which forwards them to the national legislature and a tax system research committee for review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reform is only enacted into law if both chambers approve it by the Japanese government, namely the House of Representatives and the House of Councilors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Crypto Industry Advocates seek tax reform<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For several years, advocates of the crypto industry in Japan have been advocating for a revision of the national tax regime for digital assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/jba-web.jp\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/jba-web.jp\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> Japan Blockchain Association<span class=\"wpil-link-icon\" title=\"Link goes to external site.\" style=\"margin: 0 0 0 5px;\"><svg width=\"24\" height=\"24\" style=\"height:16px;
