Together with Indonesian cryptocurrency exchange Reku, stablecoin issuer Tether launched a national education campaign to improve crypto literacy<\/a> in the nation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a press statement on September 4, the combined effort will include a roadshow encompassing ten major cities, including Bali, Medan, Yogyakarta, and Jakarta, among others, from September through March 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By increasing “awareness of the benefits of blockchain, crypto assets, and peer-to-peer technologies,” Tether, the largest stablecoin by market capitalization, hopes to improve public understanding of blockchain technology\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> and cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tether focuses on crypto sector in Indonesia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The roadshow coincides with Indonesia's emergence as a major force in the global cryptocurrency market<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Data from Chainalysis places the nation ninth in the world for adopting cryptocurrencies in 2023. According to local media, the amount of cryptocurrency traded in the country increased significantly in May, hitting 211 trillion Indonesian Rupiah, or almost $13 billion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of registered cryptocurrency investors exceeded 20 million. Both companies hope to “reach and educate thousands of participants through the literacy series with Tether during the educational roadshow in 10 major cities,” according to Reku co-CEO Jesse Choi.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increasing accessibility to crypto education<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The roadshow is a component of Tether's larger plan to increase digital money uptake in developing nations through its recently created Tether EDU department, which specializes in cryptocurrency teaching. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tether expanded its instructional project to the Ivory Coast in early August by teaming up with the Africa Blockchain Institute, a blockchain think tank in Rwanda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
