Another former Ripple board member, Gene Sperling, stepped down from\u00a0the White House to join Kamala Harris<\/a>‘ 2024 presidential campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris Larsen, co-founder and executive chairman of Ripple, has joined other corporate leaders in endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 U.S. presidential election. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As reported by CNBC \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>on Sept. 6, Larsen signed a letter of endorsement alongside 88 other business executives, including Aaron Levie, CEO of Box, Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman, Snap chairman Michael Lynton, and former 21st Century Fox CEO James Murdoch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This endorsement comes shortly after Gene Sperling, a former member of Ripple\u2019s board, left the White House in August to support Harris' campaign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sperling, who has advised Presidents Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden, is not the only adviser with a crypto background involved in the campaign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

David Plouffe, a former adviser to Binance and Alchemy Pay, also joined the Harris campaign, as reported by Politico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has predicted that SEC Chair Gary Gensler may step down regardless of who wins the upcoming election, which could impact the crypto industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the election approaches, the potential influence on the crypto market remains uncertain, but candidates use the industry to their advantage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Aug. 5, a spokesperson for the Harris campaign confirmed that crypto donations could be made through the Future Forward political action committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump<\/a> has strongly supported cryptocurrency, pledging to “make America the world capital of crypto and Bitcoin” if re-elected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larsen is not the only crypto executive backing a candidate. ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood, a vocal advocate of Bitcoin, endorsed Trump in June, stating she would vote for “who's going to do the best job for our economy.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
