Google Cloud launched a Blockchain Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service to facilitate the interaction between crypto developers and blockchain data <\/a>and is presently only compatible with Ethereum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially, the new service will be compatible with the Ethereum mainnet and testnet. In a blog post on September 17, Google Cloud announced that it intends to expand to include additional blockchains within the following year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially, the blockchain RPC service will be available with a free tier that supports EIP-1474, a defined set of RPC methods for Ethereum nodes. This tier allows up to 100 calls per second and one million daily requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google Cloud has announced that its Blockchain RPC is entirely compatible with Ethereum's JSON-RPC standard. This would enable crypto developers to incorporate it into Ethereum-based DApps<\/a> with a single line of code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An RPC is a software communication protocol that enables a program to request a service from another program located on a separate computer and network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google Cloud observed that RPC reliability has been a persistent obstacle for numerous crypto developers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is because even minor delays or errors can significantly impact the performance of decentralized applications, which frequently necessitate the ability to clear and resolve transactions in a near-instantaneous manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blockchain networks frequently encounter RPC issues During unusually high network activity or transaction volumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In June, the Ethereum layer-2 scaling network ZKsync\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> encountered significant delays and a decline in network functionality due to elevated network activity and issues with RPC providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
