In a Q&A session, Mark Rydon, the chief strategy officer and co-founder of Aethir, clarified that conventional systems cannot continue to meet the computational and storage requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GPU scarcity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The FIL Singapore event was the venue for announcing the partnership between Aethir and Filecoin. Rydon addressed the significance of computational support in decentralized infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He elaborated that Aethir's network of over 43,000 GPUs, which includes Nvidia H100s, supports the increasing demand for computational capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview with Cointelegraph, Rydon stated that Aethir was selected to integrate with Filecoin due to “the necessity for decentralized infrastructure,” notably in AI and Web3<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GPU cloud computing obstacles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rydon identifies numerous obstacles to decentralized GPU cloud computing, including “the global shortage and inefficient use of GPUs.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnother key issue is ensuring that compute power and data storage remain balanced and decentralized, which is critical to avoiding central points of failure.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

To confront these obstacles, the partnership concentrates on data security that AI controls. This is achieved using node-focused data, such as TensorOpera Fox-1, stored across the Filecoin network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aethir's partnership with Filecoin will involve integrating its “scalable GPU computing capabilities” with Filecoin's storage services to address “heavy computing and storage needs,” according to Rydon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launch of Aethir's decentralized cloud<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Aethir initiated its decentralized cloud computing network on the Ethereum mainnet in June to facilitate the contribution of inactive GPU resources to the GPU-as-a-service solutions \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The establishment on mainnet allowed “high-quality enterprises” to contribute their resources to “increase access to the current supply of GPUs,” as Rydon explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
