The statement was made according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/coinscreed.com\/staging\/77-of-russian-investors-prefer-bitcoin-to-gold-and-forex-survey.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"9022\">Russian <\/a>news agency RIA Novosti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his speech, the Kremlin spokesperson stated that classifying cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin alongside traditional money instruments would be detrimental to the country's financial and economic structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is clear that Russia is not prepared for such actions,\u201d Peskov is said to have said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Russia's long-standing skepticism toward Bitcoin is reflected in Peskov's latest remarks, which echo a similar statement made by Anatoly Aksakov, a member of the State Duma who was instrumental in enacting the country's ban on cryptocurrency payments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aksakov stated in August that accepting <a href=\"https:\/\/coinscreed.com\/staging\/nigerias-securities-regulator-set-up-a-fintech-team-to-research-cryptocurrency.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"9219\">cryptocurrency<\/a> as payment would ultimately amount to the &#8220;destruction of a financial system.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the government's key crypto regulation, &#8220;On Digital Financial Assets,&#8221; which went into effect in January 2021, cryptocurrency payments were formally prohibited in the country.
