Bitget Wallet, a self-custody crypto wallet by the Bitget exchange, has gained significant traction on Telegram, with its Mini App drawing millions of users shortly after launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Oct. 31, Bitget Wallet announced the official release of Bitget Wallet Lite, a multichain wallet built into Telegram, enabling users to buy, store, and send cryptocurrency directly within the app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This launch followed a soft release of Bitget Wallet Lite on Oct. 28, which saw the app attract six million users on Telegram within three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six Million Users in Just Three Days?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Following an initial user base of three million in the first two days, Bitget Wallet Lite\u2019s numbers rose past six million on its official launch day, making up half of Bitget Wallet\u2019s 12 million monthly users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bitget Wallet Lite\u2019s rapid expansion is attributed to targeted campaigns and unique features designed to engage users, according to Bitget Wallet\u2019s COO, Alvin Kan, who explained to Cointelegraph:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe launched a targeted campaign in Telegram groups, with gifts for the first million users, drove early adoption by creating urgency and rewarding users eager to secure the best opportunities on Bitget Wallet.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Partnerships with other Mini Apps, like Tomarket, helped Bitget Wallet Lite reach a larger Telegram audience. Additional drivers of user growth included referral programs where users earned rewards for inviting friends, Kan noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crypto Wallets Widespread on Telegram<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Telegram already hosts various crypto wallets, including the default Wallet in Telegram and other popular Mini Apps like Hot Wallet, with 5.8 million monthly users; Tonkeeper, with 760,000 users; and OKX Wallet, with around 700,000 users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As crypto wallets increase in popularity on Telegram, Bitget warned users to be cautious of Mini Apps due to a rise in phishing and other risks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bitget<\/a> highlighted that Telegram\u2019s monthly active user data can be manipulated, which could help scammers impersonate established crypto brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is safer to check Telegram\u2019s official verification blue tag or check with the official brand account or customer service,\u201d Bitget told Cointelegraph, suggesting users confirm any channel related to Bitget Wallet through a dedicated verification page\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> on their website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
