In a cryptocurrency fraud that involved Prateek Jain, a 33-year-old man from Kolkata, India, authorities in Grant County, Indiana, have recovered $36,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jain is accused of felony fraud and money laundering<\/a> for allegedly persuading a resident of Marion, Indiana to deposit funds into a bitcoin ATM as part of the scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jain was identified as the perpetrator after the case was initially reported to the Marion Police Department and subsequently transferred to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jain had previously visited the United States\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a> on a transitory visa in 2024 and has since returned to India, where he is currently situated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
