Terra (LUNA), a blockchain network that powers stablecoins and decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, has revealed two exciting updates for its community. The first is the launch of interchain non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in collaboration with Ark Protocol, a platform for NFT discovery and curation. The second one is the release of Station v3 Extension, an improved version of its web application for managing Terra assets and services.
Interchain NFTs are digital collectibles that can be transferred and displayed across different blockchain networks. This feature allows NFT creators and collectors more flexibility, exposure, and interoperability for their NFTs. For example, an NFT created on Terra can be easily moved and showcased on other networks that support Ark Protocol, such as Cosmos, Ethereum, and Binance Smart Chain.
Terra is one of the first blockchain networks to integrate with Ark Protocol and enable interchain NFTs for its users. Terra’s NFT projects, such as Galactic Punks, Terra World, and Lunaverse, will benefit from this innovation, as they will be able to reach a wider audience and offer a better user experience.
Chris Amani, CEO of Terra, expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership. He said that interchain NFTs are a game-changer for the NFT industry, as they will enhance the visibility and accessibility of NFTs created on Terra. He also praised Ark Protocol for its vision and technology and said that he looks forward to working with them to create a more vibrant and diverse NFT ecosystem.
Station v3 Extension is an update for Terra’s web application, Station, which allows users to access Terra’s stablecoins, DeFi protocols, and NFT marketplaces. Station v3 Extension is a browser extension that can be installed on Chrome Web and Microsoft Edge browsers.
It provides a more convenient and secure way to interact with Terra’s network, as users can sign transactions, manage their wallets, and use various Terra services without leaving their browser tabs.
Station v3 Extension is the first step of a larger upgrade for Station, which will include a new dashboard and mobile applications. These features are expected to be released in the next few weeks. Station v3 aims to improve the user experience and functionality of Terra’s web application and make it easier for users to explore and enjoy Terra’s ecosystem.
Despite these positive developments, Terra’s market performance has been modest.
After a sharp drop in December 2023, the price of LUNA, Terra’s native token, has recovered slightly, increasing by 2.46% in the last 24 hours. At the time of writing, LUNA is trading at $0.6835, with a market capitalization of $2.8 billion. LUNA is ranked 23rd among the top cryptocurrencies by market cap.
