U.S. Figure Skating, the national governing body for the sport of figure skating in the United States, is the latest institution in the country to accept cryptocurrency donations such as Bitcoin (BTC) this comes after the body announced plans to go crypto last year.
U.S. Figure Skating announced on Tuesday that it has collaborated with the enterprise-level contribution platform Engiven to begin collecting cryptocurrency donations and gifts. In September 2021, the organization first announced its plans to accept cryptocurrency donations.

The new donation payment option is live now on US Figure Skating’s website, powered by Engiven, and includes major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), and stablecoins like USD Coin (USDC) and PAX Gold (PAXG).
“The United States Figure Skating Association now accepts cryptocurrencies as a gift for any of its major funds.” “Gifts of cryptocurrencies are tax-deductible and can assist US Figure Skating in developing programming for athletes,” according to the organization’s website.
Engiven, according to the release, automatically converts contributed cryptocurrency into US dollars and transfers the proceeds to US Figure Skating. According to the release, “US Figure Skating is the first national governing organization in the United States to accept gifts in several cryptocurrencies.”
The introduction of the contribution possibilities, according to U.S. Figure Skating executive director Ramsey Baker, is in line with the organization’s ongoing search for new and inventive ways to fund its athletes, clubs, programs, and initiatives.
“Allowing our supporters to give to U.S. Figure Skating using cryptocurrency makes sense in today’s quickly changing financial marketplace.”
Baker went on to say that the more ways current and new contributors may support the organization, the more U.S. Figure Skating would be able to directly support the athletes and the various programs that benefit its members.
