As Trust Wallet warns against Xiaomi and Amazon store scams, users should only download apps from trusted sources.
Users of Trust Wallet, a cryptocurrency wallet endorsed by Binance, have been warned about potentially fraudulent versions of the program available on the Xiaomi and Amazon stores. The business stated it has already filed requests to have the bogus apps removed in an X post on June 7.Â
The business directed users to the official URLs for iOS (program Store), Android (Google Play Store), and the Trust Wallet Extension (Google Chrome Store), emphasizing the value of getting the program from reputable sources. Trust Wallet:
“Please exercise due diligence when downloading the Trust Wallet app — be sure that the app is the official one.”
Google temporarily deleted Trust Wallet from their marketplace at the end of April. A representative for the cryptocurrency wallet stated that Google’s policies were the reason for the withdrawal, noting that an appeal had been filed weeks prior to Google removing the app.
The removal was allegedly related to an FBI circular that advised against utilizing non-KYC platforms and solutions. Nevertheless, the spokesperson’s information did not mention the FBI warning as a factor in Google’s decision to withdraw the wallet.
