Satoshi Nakamoto, the developer of Bitcoin, has risen to the ranks of the world’s wealthiest persons as a result of the recent price boom in the flagship digital commodity.
The value of Bitcoin rose to as high as $62,945 during its recent green run before reverting to its current value of roughly $62,000, according to CoinMarketCap. Satoshi Nakamoto is on his way to becoming one of the top 20 wealthiest persons on the planet, based on the current exchange rate and the estimated quantity of bitcoins he purportedly controls.
Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoin holdings place him among the top twenty richest people on the planet
It is estimated that the developer of the “digital gold” has around 1 million bitcoins, according to a Whale Alert article; however, some schools of thought believe that his holdings are closer to 750,000 bitcoins, while others believe that his holdings are greater than 1 million. The popular view, on the other hand, is that Satoshi Nakamoto holds one million bitcoins.
In this case, the recent price jump would have increased the innovator’s fortune to between $60 and $61 million, placing him among the top 20 richest people on the Forbes billionaires’ list. It would put him ahead of China’s Zhang Yiming in terms of wealth, yet he would still be far less wealthy than Walmart CEO Rob Walton.
Notably, Satoshi Nakamoto is still a long way behind the richest person on the planet, Elon Musk, who is estimated to be worth around $214.8 billion. In order for the entrepreneur to successfully dethrone the Tesla creator, the value of Bitcoin must grow to at least $215,000.
The value of the digital commodity, though, may reach $100,000, which would propel Nakamoto into the top ten richest persons on the planet, according to Forbes.
A mystery has lingered surrounding the identity of the Bitcoin inventor as many people speculate about his/her death since this may be the only explanation for why not a single penny has been spent from the Bitcoin stockpile since its creation.
It should be emphasized, however, that Nakamoto may still be alive and well, despite the fact that this is primarily conjectured.
