Bitnovo, a non-custodial cryptocurrency asset service provider, has reportedly registered as a digital asset provider (PSAN).
The AMF, France’s Financial Markets Authority, states that Bitnovo can now provide its services in France as a result of this registration.
The French financial daily Les Echos claims that the designation of “Digital Asset Service Provider” (PSAN) was first introduced in 2019 and that the first company to receive certification did so in 2023. This year, the AMF gave this designation to several institutions, including the French banking organization CACEIS Bank.
According to the regulator’s website, to offer any of the following four services in France, one must be registered with the AMF: custody of digital assets; purchase or sale of digital assets in legal tender currencies; trading of digital assets with other digital assets; or operation of a digital asset trading platform.
Currently, Bitnovo offers a user-friendly self-custodial wallet that makes interacting with cryptocurrencies simple and allows users to access their assets independently of third parties.
