A worldwide payments company called Mercuryo has teamed up with TON to offer USDT fiat-to-crypto conversion services.
Integrating Tonkeeper, a self-custody wallet that facilitates transactions in Layer 1, The Open Network (TON), and other digital currencies, was the first step in the endeavor.
Executive Director of Mercuryo in Singapore, Aviessa Khoo, expressed her happiness with adding Tether token (USDT) on-ramp services to the TON ecosystem.
The services are intended to facilitate the on-ramp of fiat money to USDT, hence optimizing network transactions. Wallet, a Telegram cryptocurrency wallet with over 900 million users, is also integrated with the platform, enabling quick and fee-free USDT transfers between Telegram contacts worldwide. According to Ton Apps Group CEO Oleg Andreev:
“USDT support in TON is making possible a mass-market economy on a decentralized network for the first time in history”
Later this spring, Mercuryo intends to launch off-ramp services enabling users to exchange cryptocurrencies for fiat money. The availability of this capability will expand the functionality of wallet and other top wallets in the TON ecosystem.
In order to encourage the use of USDT on its network, the TON Foundation introduced an incentive program and allocated 11 million Toncoin. Telegram founder Pavel Durov unveiled new TON features at the Token2049 conference, including NFT sticker sales, crypto-based account capabilities, and payments for adverts and tips in TON.
