Zeebit announced that it would launch the first completely decentralized risk-on microgaming platform on Solana.
According to a press statement from the Zeebit team, the platform’s new on-chain risk-on game platform will launch on Sonic, the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) Layer 2 chain, and provide a selection of cutting-edge Web3 games. Bayzian, core contributor at Zeebit, said:
“Our collaboration with Sonic is possible thanks to the enhancements made to the SVM in recent months, utilizing core functionality to unlock new types of games and experiences”
Classic casino and PVP games with on-chain verifiability, proven fairness, and non-custodial settlement will be available on Zeebit’s platform. Zeebit’s current Solana-based protocol will see player histories, stats, and points transferred to Sonic to utilize Sonic’s scalability network for high-volume decentralized applications (dApps).
Zeebit Plans Testnet Launch in Coming Weeks
The Zeebit team plans to launch on the Sonic testnet before transitioning to the mainnet and full migration. Users will be able to test out both new and old games, including Dice, Coin Flip, Limbo, Roulette, Plinko, Mines, and Crash, during this testnet phase, which is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks.
Testnet users can later redeem Zeebit points and Sonic rings they have earned. Testnet users will receive Sonic rings, and Zeebit points that they can use for other benefits later. Zeebit will be among the first decentralized gaming platforms to go online on Sonic when the entire mainnet launches.
Zeebit’s use of Sonic was commended by Chris Zhu, CEO of SonicSVM, who pointed out that the platform is a trailblazing endeavor fully utilizing Web3 technology on Solana, not just another cryptocurrency casino. Zhu said:
“We’re excited that the Zeebit team will be able to realize their vision utilizing Sonic, building a truly transparent, fair, and fun gaming suite. They will be a leading example in the Sonic ecosystem utilizing customized Sonic gaming stack, while being composable with the rest of the Solana ecosystem”
Solana Labs is Zeebit’s incubator, and investors Jump Crypto, Mirana Ventures, and GBV are among them.
