At BTC Conference 2024, Bitcoin Miner MicroBT introduces new WhatsMiner models and solar mining technology, setting industry standards for crypto mining.
At the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, USA, Bitcoin miner MicroBT implemented a variety of modifications to its WhatsMiner series, with a particular focus on environmentally friendly mining technologies.
Dr. Zuoxing Yang, CEO and Founder of MicroBT, delivered a speech regarding the company’s advancements in developing sustainable mining solutions.
Bitcoin miner MicroBT Unveils new WhatsMiner models
During this address, Dr. Yang disclosed novel WhatsMiner series models for immersion, hydro, and air cooling systems. The flagship models are the air-cooling M60S+, hydro-cooling M63S+ and M64, and immersion-cooling M66S+.
It is crucial to note that the M60S+ has a power efficiency of 17J/T and a maximal hash rate of 210TH/s. In the case of the M64 model, the discharge water temperature can reach 80℃ (176℉), while the hydro-cooled M63S+ can exploit up to 450TH/s hash, thereby establishing a new industry standard.
The future of solar-powered mining was also a significant focus of Dr. Yang’s keynote. He predicted that the electricity cost for solar mining could decrease to approximately $0.04 per kWh by 2026, thereby surmounting substantial obstacles to participation in this sector.
The ongoing research of Bitcoin miner MicroBT into solar mining technology is designed to optimize miner frequency adjustment based on the availability of solar energy. This research is demonstrated by a successful pilotage effort of a 100 kW project. Additionally, it was announced that the Whatsminer Solar Mining Container system would be released shortly.
Industry Collaboration and Prospects
After his keynote presentation, during which he shared best practices, Wright Wang, Director of Sales & Marketing at MicroBT, participated in a panel discussion that included other industry players from Riot Platforms and Peak Mining Company, among others. The panel discussed various aspects of large-scale mining operations that use Immersion and Hydro cooling methods, which have seen a significant adoption rate for Whatsminer technology.
Wang emphasized that these areas were essential for MicroBT’s ongoing innovation to establish a more sustainable mining ecosystem. Dr. Yang concluded his speech by indicating that there will be additional advancements in MicroBT’s mining technology, as he promised to introduce new products and solutions in the upcoming spring.
In the interim, Coingape’s report indicates that Samson Mow presented numerous innovative concepts at the conference. Additionally, he proposed a distinctive method of managing national debt by converting the U.S. national debt into Bitcoin’s smallest unit, satoshis, thereby integrating Bitcoin into conventional financial systems.
In addition, he proposed the establishment of a Bitcoin mine on the moon, contending that it is feasible to extend BTC mining beyond Earth by employing renewable energy sources. Consequently, the potential for cryptocurrency integration into broader economic and technological contexts in the future was underscored by such innovative perspectives.
