The Dallas Mavericks are giving away $25 gift cards to customers who buy over $150 of merch using cryptocurrencies, customers can buy merchandise with cryptocurrencies including bitcoin, ether, dogecoin, USDC, and GUSD.
Customers who spend at least $150 on items with specific cryptocurrencies will receive a $25 e-gift card from the Dallas Mavericks.
The “Mavs Cryptomania” giveaway is the NBA team’s newest effort to promote cryptocurrencies. The team added dogecoin to its list of acceptable currency for ticket and product payments earlier this year.
Shortly after the announcement, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban announced that his NBA team had completed over 20,000 dogecoin transactions, making it the largest merchant of the meme-based cryptocurrency.
On Friday, Cuban used the hashtag “#dogemania” to tweet an image of the gift card campaign. He also mentioned that people can use cryptocurrency to purchase suites and lower-level seats.
The NBA team now uses BitPay to process bitcoin, ether, bitcoin cash, doge, USDC, GUSD, BUSD, and PAX cryptocurrency purchases.
On Twitter, the founder of dogecoin, known as “Shibtoshi Nakamoto,” expressed his delight and told his followers:
“If you want to support one of the first large name retailers to evangelize DOGE for purchases, it’s ready for you,” he said, linked to the announcement. The Mavericks’ offer is good through September 30.
