Aptos is stepping up its focus on the Asia-Pacific area by introducing a new project with Alibaba Cloud to promote smart contract programming languages in Japan.
In order to enhance “regional accessibility in APAC” and fortify Japan’s blockchain ecosystem, Alibaba Cloud and the Aptos Foundation have partnered, the business announced on its blog on June 28.
Both firms have started Alcove, a co-branded developer community aimed at promoting the Move programming language, by the terms of the collaboration agreement.
According to the release, Alcove’s first project will be a gathering that OKCoin Japan and Alibaba Cloud will co-host to highlight the “tangible benefits of web3 and digital assets in Japan.”
In addition to gatherings, the Aptos Foundation will hold several hackathons for the Alcove community to provide a forum for enlightening the locals about the potential of blockchain technology.
Speaking about the collaboration, Aptos Foundation head of grants and ecosystem, Bashar Lazaar, stated that the goals of both businesses are to establish a “vibrant environment that allows Japan’s growing interest in web3 and IP strengths to flourish.”
The blockchain industry has long been a goal for China’s digital behemoth as one of its sectors for diversification. ZAN, a company devoted to offering blockchain development tools, was introduced in September 2023 by Ant Group Digital Technologies, a division of Alibaba Group.
The new business intends to provide a variety of blockchain development services and solutions to cater to the requirements of both individual and institutional web3 developers.
