The former CEO and creator of Binance, Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, admitted guilt to accusations of money laundering in the US and was recently sentenced to four months in prison.
He resigned as CEO when the trading platform was hit with a $4.3 billion fine from the US Department of Justice (DOJ). Major cryptocurrencies saw price declines at the time because so many investors lost faith in the market.
