Nasdaq Futures Slide as Bitcoin Holds Strong at $63,500

Bitcoin Rebounds From Asian Session Lows Near $63,065

Bitcoin traded around $63,500 on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, recovering from an Asian-session low of $63,065 even as broader risk sentiment soured across global markets, according to CoinDesk data. The cryptocurrency was down 0.3% since midnight UTC and nearly 3% over the past 24 hours, but held up better than Nasdaq futures and major Asian equity benchmarks. Traders described the session as risk-off, with equities bearing the brunt of the selloff while bitcoin showed relative resilience.

Nasdaq Futures Hit Three-Month Low Amid Risk-Off Selloff

E-mini Nasdaq 100 futures slipped to around 27,930 points, their lowest level since May, down 1.2% for the week after peaking near 31,000 in June. Nvidia, the index's largest weight, fell nearly 5% in the prior session, adding pressure ahead of a closely watched Federal Reserve meeting scheduled for July 28 and 29.

Kospi Plunge and Nvidia Drop Weigh on Global Risk Assets

South Korea's Kospi index tumbled roughly 10% during Asian trading, with declines also weighing on Japan's Nikkei and other regional benchmarks. The selloff followed sharp losses in memory-chip makers, with analysts pointing to tightening global liquidity and rising Treasury yields ahead of the Fed's rate decision as key drivers of the broader risk aversion.

Bitcoin's relative outperformance versus equities suggests some investors are treating it as a partial hedge during this risk-off episode, though its correlation with tech stocks remains close.

This week's Fed decision, core PCE inflation data, and major tech earnings are likely to determine whether risk assets stabilize or extend losses into next week. Nansen analysts noted bitcoin must clear roughly $67,300 to confirm a new bullish leg, warning that without stronger ETF inflows, prices could instead retreat toward the mid-$50,000s.
