Australia’s oldest crypto exchange Announces A Treat For Shiba Inu Fans
On the occasion of its ninth anniversary, CoinJar, Australia’s oldest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced a Shiba Inu-themed promotional campaign.
According to the announcement, users who make a single trade on the app this week can win up to 99,999,999 million SHIB tokens (roughly $3,526 at press time).
By making more trades, participants will be able to increase the number of entries. According to Australia’s oldest cryptocurrency exchange, each individual will be limited to ten entries.
In a blog post, the company reflected on its journey, recalling that it began operations when the price of Bitcoin was just $100. It also mentioned how Shiba Inu’s market value surpassed General Electric’s last year.
“Nine years: it’s a long time in the crypto world. When we opened our doors all the way back in May 2013, it was hard to believe that we would one day become Australia’s longest-running crypto exchange – and one of the oldest exchanges in the world.
Which is basically our way of saying, yeah, we’ve seen some stuff. Bitcoin surging from US$100 to US$69,000. The crypto market cap reaching US$3 trillion. Crashes and crypto winters to make a grown adult weep. A meme-of-a-meme coin (*cough* SHIB *cough*) becoming more valuable than GE.”

Australia’s oldest cryptocurrency exchange also takes pride in being the first cryptocurrency exchange to open in the United Kingdom and is licensed by the Financial Conduct Authority, the country’s primary regulatory body.
“And through it all we’ve kept building, helping more than 600,000 people in Australia and the UK to buy, sell and spend billions in crypto. We were the first Australian exchange with a mobile app. CoinJar Card was one of the first crypto Mastercards in the world; CoinJar Swipe was the first crypto card, period. We were the first Australian exchange operating in the UK, the first to obtain FCA registration and the first to sponsor an AFL team. And we’re just getting started.”

Shiba Inu support was added to Australia’s oldest exchange in December. SHIB tokens are also available for purchase on CoinSpot, Swyftx, Uphold, and other popular cryptocurrency exchanges in Australia.
Despite its recent appearance on the cryptocurrency scene, a survey conducted in late 2021 found that the meme coin was more popular in the country than Cardano’s ADA and XRP.
According to CoinMarketCap data, SHIB is currently trading at $0.00002142 on major spot exchanges.
