Digital solutions firm GMEX and blockchain company Zilliqa have partnered to launch a carbon offset platform.
A layer-1 blockchain called Zilliqa and the GMEX Group have introduced ZERO13, a carbon offsets platform enabling users to combat climate change and participate in corporate environmental projects.
In order to issue tokens that stand in for carbon credits, ZERO13 will use Zilliqa. Customers will receive tokens to support environmental projects and offset their carbon footprint when they purchase items or services from Zilliqa’s partners.
To ensure that these initiatives positively influence the environment, GMEX Group will carefully select and certify them. To provide consumers with a transparent and secure real-time platform to monitor and offset their carbon emissions, ZERO13 is utilizing the blockchain.
Additionally, the platform will create a new market for carbon credits where users may exchange or donate them to environmental charities.
Customers will be motivated by the circular economy to lessen their environmental impact, while businesses will be encouraged to implement more environmentally friendly procedures.
Blockchain technology can aid the supply chain management sector while enhancing the environment. Blockchain can aid in the fight against deforestation, illicit fishing, and unethical labor practices by tracking and recording every stage of product development in the supply chain.
